Te Pureoranga - Waikato Regional Renal Centre
Revolutionising renal care in the Waikato region
Te Pureoranga, the cutting-edge Waikato Regional Renal Centre, was completed in December 2024. This three-storey, purpose-built facility is designed to support the growing needs of renal patients across the region.
With 63 advanced treatment spaces, consultation rooms, Whānau areas, offices, green spaces, and enhanced arrival zones, the centre provides a comprehensive environment for both patients and the specialist renal team of 110 people.
Meeting the Objectives
The primary objective of the project was to create a modern, efficient, and patient-centric renal treatment facility.
Key considerations included ensuring seamless connectivity, optimizing workflow for the specialist renal team, and integrating advanced medical technologies to improve patient care.
Key Requirements:
- State-of-the-art digital infrastructure to support critical medical and operational systems.
- A well-connected environment with extensive data outlets for intercoms, cameras, Wi-Fi, TVs, medical panels, HDMIs, and general data needs.
- Purpose-built spaces that enhance patient comfort and streamline the work of 110 specialist renal professionals.
Challenges & Solutions
Key considerations included ensuring seamless connectivity, optimizing workflow for the specialist renal team, and integrating advanced medical technologies to improve patient care.
- Integration of Extensive Digital Infrastructure: With a total of 978 data outlets, the facility required detailed planning to ensure seamless connectivity. Our team strategically placed intercoms, cameras, and Wi-Fi access points to provide comprehensive coverage.
- Optimized Network Infrastructure: To support the technological demands of the centre, the ground floor comms room was fitted with three open-frame data racks, ensuring a robust and scalable network backbone.
- Enhanced Arrival and Patient Flow: Thoughtful spatial planning was implemented to create an intuitive and stress-free experience for patients and their families, incorporating Whānau areas and green spaces for comfort and well-being.
Project Completion & Impact
Our work at Te Pureoranga is now complete, and the facility stands as a benchmark for renal care in Waikato.
The implementation of nearly a thousand data outlets and a high-performance network infrastructure ensures that both patients and medical professionals benefit from a technologically advanced and supportive environment.
This project marks a significant step forward in delivering exceptional renal care across the region.
